The company Artés
de Arcos, one of the leading makers of vehicle components and competition
material, first designed a Guepardo for Formula
IV. It attempted to build a single-seater that brought together the conditions
for Formula IV, and its suitable makers were to be Molons & Xifré. It
was presented at the Salón de Barcelona in 1966. It had two versions,
a 250cc & an 850cc (coming from the Seat 850). In October 1966, it was
also shown at the Salón de París, and more prototypes were prepared for
the "Racing Show" in Brussels in the same year.
The Guepardo is quite a well-known racing car. After the disappearance
of Formula IV competition, many of these cars were 'personalized' and
a version that was made for racing in Formula III was not so successful.
